Every summer, our Youth eagerly anticipate attending United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth, or U.M. ARMY. In 2009 our youth joined approximately 4,000 other high school youth and adult volunteers from eight states to repair the homes of low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners in 50 home repair camps across the country. Founded in 1979, over 30,000 volunteers have shared the love of Christ with homeowners in need through the U.M. ARMY ministry.

U.M. ARMY is now working to strengthen and expand the ministry and is asking for you to consider supporting the U.M. ARMY Golf Classic, scheduled for March 27 at Woodforest Golf Club at Fish Creek in Montgomery, TX. The proceeds from the Golf Classic will support the growth and expansion of the ministry in existing U.M. ARMY Chapters and to new regions. In 2010, U.M. ARMY is planning 5 growth camps, scheduled for North Texas, Northwest Texas and Illinois.

Early-bird rates for golfers end February 26, so contact U.M. ARMY staff soon for information specific to golfers, hole sponsors and silent auction donors. U.M. ARMY has impacted both youth and adults in our own congregation and has been an answer to prayer for thousands of homeowners throughout the country. Now it is our turn to help support this ministry that has meant so much to us by playing in or supporting the U.M. ARMY Golf Classic.
